Dr. Raman Kishor, MD, a distinguished Post graduate of AIIMS Patna, has dedicated the past five years of his life to providing free healthcare and medicine distribution in rural Bihar. His story, recently broadcast on Akashwani Patna, is a testament to his commitment to making healthcare accessible to the underserved, earning him the heartfelt title of “Gaon Ka Doctor” (The Village Doctor).
A Journey Born from Compassion
Dr. Kishor’s mission began During pursuing an MD Degree at AIIMS Patna. He realized that despite the medical knowledge and skills he had gained, many rural communities in Bihar were still struggling to access even basic healthcare. Driven by a desire to make a difference, he chose to return to his roots and offer free medical services to the people who needed them the most.
For the past five years, Dr. Kishor has been treating the poor and marginalized in rural Bihar, providing free medical consultations, diagnostics, and distributing medicines without charge. Over the course of this initiative, he has helped over 30,000 people through 205 free rural health camp, many of whom would otherwise have gone untreated due to financial constraints.
A Selfless Dedication

He funds this entire initiative out of his own salary, using his personal earnings to cover the costs of medicines, medical supplies, and travel expenses.
